Offering a natural and ethical, bespoke alternative to buying a new suit.
Where do your suits go when you no longer use them? In a land fill site? Sent to a vintage/charity shop? It would be much easier to simply wear them again. However, most of those suits don't get worn anymore, especially when only 25% of all our 1,000,000 tonnes of UK's discarded clothing is sent to charity shops, the rest is land filled. Although not all suits go down this route, how many of you put your suit back in the wardrobe?
Based in Huddersfield in West Yorkshire, Sustainable Tailoring provides tailoring and sewing services in the creation of reworked quality tailored garments such as; male and female suits, tailored skirts, jackets and trousers, offering a natural and ethical, bespoke alternative to buying a new suit.
Through methods of reworking and altering your old tired suits. Sustainable Tailoring will create exciting new styles, so that they don't stay hidden away in the back of a wardrobe. Sustainable Tailoring can deconstruct and reconstruct your tired, dated woollen suits, using sustainable, natural and traceable materials, promoting British Wool, Hemp and recycled/re-used fabric. Aiming to support local skills, jobs and British manufacturing.
The Sustainable Tailoring website is a blogging journal of pervious and ongoing work, so if you have any suits/tailored garments that you think Sustainable Tailoring can help with, then please do get in touch and I will see what I can do for you.
Never throw anything away, there's a use for everything.
